It was my honour to be part of Seion's project. I was thrilled to work with the respected Japanese instrument maker to share about their guzhengs to fellow musicians and guzheng learners. The Seion family has a long tradition of making string zithers, the koto. In order to trace and honour the roots of the Japanese koto, Seion has decided to use the same artistry and craftsmanship to make the traditional chinese instrument, the guzheng.

Seion's guzhengs are carved out from rare trees in Japan. The grains of the guzheng are simply exquisite. The back of the soundboard is hand carved with V-shaped sound grooves which makes the sound resonate with more clarity and bass. The sound is crystal clear and bright with a nice long resonating ring. I dare say, Seion's guzhengs are the best ones i have seen till today.
